How to Use Gaviscon Infant Sachets

Breast-fed infants:

• Under 4.5 kg (10 lb): 1 dose after each feed
• Over 4.5 kg (10 lb): 2 doses after each feed
• Mix with 5 ml cooled boiled water to form a paste, then add 10 ml more to make a smooth suspension
• Administer using a spoon or feeding bottle

Bottle-fed infants:

• Under 4.5 kg (10 lb): 1 dose per 115 ml of feed
• Over 4.5 kg (10 lb): 2 doses per 225 ml of feed
• Shake bottle well before feeding

Young children (over 1 year):

• 2 doses after each meal prepared as above

Precautions

• Do not use in infants under 1 year without medical supervision
• Avoid combining with other thickening agents or pre-thickened formula
• Maximum 6 doses in 24 hours
• Products containing mannitol may cause laxative effects
