Mebendazole being poorly absorbed from the gastro-intestinal tract, is used principally in the treatment of intestinal nematode infections mainly Ascaris (roundworm infection), enterobiasis (threadworm infection), hookworm infection (ancylostomiasis and necatoriasis) and trichuriasis (whipworm infection).
