Description

Flixotide Inhaler 250mcg 120 Doses – Asthma Preventer Inhaler with Fluticasone Propionate

Flixotide Inhaler 250mcg (120 doses) contains Fluticasone Propionate, a corticosteroid designed for long-term control and prevention of asthma symptoms. Each actuation delivers 250 micrograms of medication directly into the lungs, where it works to reduce airway inflammation, swelling, and mucus production, helping patients achieve better breathing control.

Unlike quick-relief inhalers, Flixotide is a preventer inhaler intended for daily use. It helps reduce the frequency and severity of asthma attacks, improves lung function, and minimizes night-time symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, and breathlessness. This strength is typically prescribed to patients with moderate to severe asthma, or those whose symptoms are not adequately managed with lower-dose inhalers.

Flixotide works best when used regularly, even in the absence of symptoms. By maintaining consistent anti-inflammatory activity in the airways, it lowers the risk of severe exacerbations and long-term lung damage associated with poorly controlled asthma. For maximum benefit, patients should use the inhaler exactly as prescribed and maintain regular follow-ups with their healthcare provider to adjust dosage as needed.

This inhaler should be used with correct technique to ensure proper delivery of medication. Using a spacer device may help improve drug absorption and minimize deposition in the mouth and throat. After each dose, rinsing the mouth with water is recommended to prevent oral thrush, a common side effect of corticosteroid inhalers.

Flixotide Inhaler 250mcg is not suitable for sudden asthma attacks or immediate relief of acute symptoms. A separate short-acting bronchodilator inhaler (rescue inhaler) must always be kept on hand for emergencies.
